Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
加拿大導演戴維.克羅南伯格執導的本片,主要描寫駭人聽聞的瘋狗病,受傳染的人會口吐綠液,雙眼發光,并且見人亂咬,幾個小時后即不治而亡。美國著名的“性”星瑪里琳.查姆伯絲扮演的羅絲小姐幼時曾患過瘋狗病,因車禍受傷引起病毒復發,腋下竟然不可思議地長出一個嘴巴,而且內有一個可伸縮自如的肉刺,專用來插到別人身上吸血。于是,她在一個接一個吸別人血的同時,也把瘋狗病迅速傳播,使城市瞬間成為瘋人滿布的人間地獄…… 影片評價 僅僅就身體變異而言,克隆伯格的獨特之處在于處處不忘對色情幻想進行扭曲,無論是《狂犬病》(Rabid)中女主角必須由腋下長出一只陰莖來對其陰道作出支撐,還是《錄像帶謀殺案》(Videodrome)中男主角長出陰道般的裂口,都是這種扭曲的必然,連錄像帶的轉子,都像雙乳一樣扭動。《錄像帶謀殺案》其實還有一個原來設想的結局,就是一男(男主角麥克斯)兩女(尼基和卞卡)合體,同時以各自的變異性器官相互絞纏吞噬。在《赤裸的午餐》(Naked lunch)中,那個最終撕開男性外皮露出女體乳房的總裁如果還不夠刺激,等你意識到她的裝束是女同施虐的標準配備,就會有格外的顫栗。
阿格涅絲卡·霍蘭憑借這部迄今為止最具野心的作品達成了導演生涯的巔峰,她呈現了一部關于20世紀捷克標志性作家弗朗茨·卡夫卡的傳記片。影片以萬花筒般的拼貼手法構建而成,追隨卡夫卡留下的足跡——從19世紀的布拉格出發,直至他在維也納辭世,時間跨度涵蓋第一次世界大戰及之后。《弗朗茨》一片將為觀眾提供一個獨特的視角,一窺這位文學巨匠背后的人生軌跡。
在現代都市里,居然出了奇怪的大事。某日從天降下一位怪人,而且自稱財仙(譚詠麟),為了逃避群眾追趕,而湊巧遇上了茶室老板及其女兒愛玲、兒子彬彬。隨即他變被打扮成時代青年財仙,替老板解決了不少難題,更積極傳播真理,讓身邊的人人都能幸福快樂。后來,財仙為救汽車失事的愛玲,使用法力搶救但似的自己變成凡人。而后更遭太空署人員圍捕,幸得眾人齊心救援,方才遇難呈祥、逢兇化吉。 香港天皇級的歌手譚詠麟早期80年代的電影作品。譚詠麟雖然憑《假如我是真的》奪得第十八屆金馬獎男主角,但是要數出他的代表作也不容易。因為他所主演的片子大多走搞笑路線,觀眾大多笑完即止。不過其中《小生怕怕》、《少爺威威》、《恭喜發財》也算得上當時優秀的喜劇作品,而且對于在樂壇上作全力沖刺的譚詠麟來說,能出演40多部電影,也可算是一個神話。延續了此前《小生怕怕》、《少爺威威》等片的商業熱力,本片推出后也大獲成功,贏得了接近兩千萬的高票房,站到了年度賣座電影的前五名之內。故事的結局和所有的賀歲片如出一轍,同樣是皆大歡喜。樂呵呵的看完電影,但演員們的精彩表現還是讓人津津樂道,至今翻看起來仍舊能回味無窮。
