黃尚（黃百鳴 飾）是一個其貌不揚的小小上班族，來到了車水馬龍人頭攢動的香港，心里滿懷希望的他決定要在此干出一番大事業(yè)。在香港，黃尚結(jié)識了三位各具風情的美女——個性溫柔賢良淑德的亞萍（楊寶玲 飾）、風情萬種熱情奔放的露露（李美鳳 飾）和高貴冷艷霸氣外露的珍妮（鄭文雅 飾） ，每一個人都讓黃尚心動不已。 一次偶然中，黃尚撿到了一本《發(fā)財秘笈》，半信半疑的他按照書中所寫待人處事，果然沒過多久便升官發(fā)財。發(fā)達之后的黃尚先是得到了露露的芳心，之后又利用手段逼迫珍妮同自己結(jié)婚，一番折騰之后，一場超現(xiàn)實的奇遇卻讓黃尚開始思考，這樣的生活真的是自己想要的嗎？

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
