寫小說的Hyo-seob從未真真正正出版過一本象樣的書，一次與人爭吵后被判入獄，深感自卑的他不斷被外界批評為三流作家，生活也很窘迫。可是他卻愛上一個已婚女人。而另一個未婚女子深深地愛著這個小說家。未婚女子對作家的愛是毫無條件的，她以前是出版社的編輯，后來在電影院shou票，并同時打幾份工。他與作家約會時付咖啡錢，心甘情愿地借錢給作家，為他修改書稿。在作家三十五歲生日時，她帶著蛋糕和禮物來到作家的住處想給他一個驚喜，作家卻責怪未婚女子來之前不給他打電話。這時，已婚女人從作家的屋里沖出，作家急忙追趕，未婚女子告訴作家，她已做好為他奉獻一生的準備，作家明確地告訴未婚女子，他深切地愛著這個已婚的女人。在街上，他對未婚女子大打出手，發泄著的自己的情緒，躲在一旁的未婚女子的男同事把這一幕盡收眼底，對未婚女子表達了愛意，失落的未婚女子與這個男同事發生了關系。
