　　死于東京皇家飯店電梯里的美國黑人青年被人發現后，警方展開調查，從死者遺物中，知曉其名叫焦尼，并推斷其來日目的是為找尋生母。根據種種線索，警方來到某溫泉，發現知情人已被殺害，但還是知曉了知名服裝設計師八杉恭子（岡田茉莉子）當年曾與一美國黑人士兵在此同居之事，遂派警官棟居（松田優作）前去美國向紐約警察肖夫坦（喬治?肯尼迪）求證。　　求證過程中，棟居陷入歷史記憶與民族情結中，幾欲將眼前的美國人尤其肖夫坦與當年在日本犯下罪行的劊子手混為一談，但終回復理智完成了任務，將八杉恭子圈定為兇手，而八杉恭子不過也是歷史的受害者。

　　佐藤鈴（道本成美）為了逃避母親（南久松真奈）的過度干涉，在川上信夫（泉知束）的引導下，前往東京的一處房產進行內覽。盡管被告知前住戶山本孝雄（巖永ひひお）因欠租而失蹤，鈴仍被這處優質房產所吸引。信夫提議她單獨繼續內覽時，鈴順從了他的建議。然而，她在房中聽到某種不祥的聲音，被引導著打開了一扇通往異世界的門，隨后被強行拉了進去。醒來后，她發現自己身處一座荒廢的巨大建筑中，迷茫中遇到了自稱山本孝雄的男子。這個空間被某個怪物所支配，既無法逃脫，也無法死去，真正的無間地獄。
