But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.

柳俊烈,金泰梨,金宇彬,趙祐鎮,李荷妮,金義城,陳善圭,廉晶雅,尹敬浩,李時勛,魏智雄導演崔東勛的最新“群星陣容”外星人題材科幻大片將于2020年初開機。此前因為確診鼻咽癌而錯過與之合作的金宇彬有望通過該片回歸影壇，同時加盟的演員還有柳俊烈和金泰梨。 崔東勛導演的這部科幻新作會有外星人登場，將是一部“講述2019年在韓國生活的外星人 的故事”。據稱該片可能會同時拍攝1、2部，最近第一部的劇本初稿已經完成，目前正在創作第二部劇本。
