好像一切都很糟糕

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 余書(喬新峰飾演)與梁瀾(曹燕飾演)夫婦研發了革命性AI“超心智腦”，旨在復原古生物生態。因兒子(張恩碩飾演)重病急需資金，二人分道揚鑣：梁瀾與投資人何叔(張德暉飾演)合作，將AI用于建造賽博機械樂園；余書則攜子離開，堅信技術不應淪為娛樂工具。多年后為救子，余書登島交出原始代碼。不料程序遭竊，機械巨獸失控暴走。危機關頭，何叔犧牲自我換取生機，余書夫婦最終聯手重啟初代代碼，關閉系統，阻止災難。離島后，他們發現何叔留下的代碼備份與醫療資源。兒子康復后，將這段經歷寫成小說《未來之心》，見證科技、人性與愛的交織。
