Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 殘酷的夏日

　　諸家老太有兩個兒子夢龍和夢飛，以及一個養孫國榮。16年前，一伙以張振邦為首的歹徒為了報復諸老太在公安局工作的丈夫，欲把夢龍和夢飛活埋，國榮的父親得知后，救出了兄弟倆，自己卻被燒死，諸老太為了報恩，收養了國榮，并且對他十分疼愛。不想，16年后的今天，國榮卻陷入了張的販毒集團。夢龍出于對國榮的愛護，在知道國榮販毒后，私下包庇他。在公安局工作的夢飛在緝拿國榮的過程中，國榮因拒捕被擊斃，夢龍被夢飛帶上了手銬。
