1980年比利時的默茲河畔，鋼鐵廠一家接一家地倒閉，成千上萬的工人不得不另謀生路，居住于瑟蘭的鋼鐵工人法布里斯也未能幸免于難。原本以豐富的鋼鐵知識和精湛的業(yè)務水平引以為傲的他，覺得自己仿佛一夜之間成了身無一技之長的廢人，從此一蹶不振。深愛他的妻子席琳為了幫助丈夫振作起來做了各種努力，卻仍換來他的不告而別。對丈夫的愛使她始終不曾放棄尋找，然而這份愛又能否拯救那個心如死灰的男人？（小易甫字幕組）
